Jasper in Fall

It is fall in Jasper. Snow will come soon, but melt on sunny days. By late October it will stay for the season. The mountains are turning white. Days are getting shorter, with sunrise around 7:00 a.m. and setting about 9:00 p.m. Daytime temperatures are generally near 15'C (59'F), but can be 10' degrees cooler and then drop even more overnight.

This is a peaceful time in Town, a great time to see wildlife and admire the spectacular scenery. Summer activities such as Tramway and Glacier Tours, Rafting and Hot Springs are open until mid October. Downhill skiing is not yet open, they are planning for November 9 th.

Bears are almost hibernating and won't be seen until spring. Elk and deer are seen in town and have their thick winter coats.  Some lakes and rivers are open for fishing. Sheep seen regularly along the highway.

Town is about as quiet as it gets and everyone is enjoying the seasonal weather.

Hope to see you here.
